It encloses stepped rosettes in madder red, green, aubergine and ivory, with ivory blossoms where the lattice meets. The field sits within a series of borders:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\ta gold and red chequer guard\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\ta multicoloured barred band\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\ta red border of cruciform leaf motifs\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\tan ivory Chichi-type border of diagonal bars and rosettes\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\ta blue running-hook border\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\tan outer red and blue diamond guard\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe colours are good and the weave is tight and fine. A small woven mark in yellow sits in one corner.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003eSize: approx. 127 cm x 155 cm (4'2\" x 5'1\"), excluding fringe.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003eCondition: honest antique condition, as shown in the photos.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\tSplits running in from the centre of both ends, through the outer borders.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\tEnds and fringes are worn and frayed.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\tSome selvedge loss, with old string overcasting in places.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\tThe pile is low in areas of the field, and the brown dye has oxidised as is typical.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\t•\tA few small spots of wear.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe rug is sound enough to display or use as it is, or it can be restored.
