The combination of underglaze blue with overglaze iron-red and gilt, often arranged in panelled or chrysanthemum-rosette compositions, has remained one of the most enduring and instantly recognisable looks in Chinese export ware.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis teapot is of typical period form with a globular body, short straight spout, loop handle and domed cover with a knop finial. It stands \u003cstrong\u003e17cm in height\u003c\/strong\u003e overall. The decoration is well executed throughout with the characteristic Imari combination of bright iron-red, deep cobalt blue and warm gilding.
