A late 18th-century Spode pearlware plate with the classic blue feather-edge border, the moulded rim brushed in underglaze cobalt blue around a plain white centre.

The underside is impressed SPODE with the number 11. It was made at Josiah Spode's Stoke works in the 18th century; the impressed SPODE mark belongs to the founding era of the factory, long before it became Copeland & Garrett in 1833.

Condition: sold as found. There is a chip to the edge of the rim, and the glaze has heavy crazing with brown staining throughout, all shown in the photos.

We list a wide range of antique and vintage pottery and porcelain, including more early English pearlware, so please take a look at our other listings.

Packed with care and dispatched from the UK.
