A late 18th-century Spode pearlware plate with the classic blue feather-edge border, the moulded rim brushed in underglaze cobalt blue around a plain white centre.
The underside is impressed SPODE with the number 15. It was made at Josiah Spode's Stoke works in the 18th century; the impressed SPODE mark belongs to the founding era of the factory, long before it became Copeland & Garrett in 1833.
