Antique 1769 John Rocque Map of Herefordshire Hereford Hand Coloured Framed

An original antique map of Herefordshire after John Rocque, the 1769 issue of his 1746 plate (issued by Thomas Read). Framed and glazed, with original hand-colouring.

The map names the surrounding Radnorshire, Brecknockshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire, with a fine armorial cartouche bearing a dedication, engraved scale bar and compass.

Marks: Rocque imprint with dedicatory cartouche. Size: approx. 29 x 24 cm framed. A collector's note to the reverse records the 1769/1746 issue and Thomas Read.

Condition: good antique condition; light toning, original colour. Sold framed. Photographs form part of the description.
