Antique Chinese Embroidered Silk Picture Immortals Red Ground Framed 58x69cm

A decorative Chinese embroidered silk picture, finely worked in coloured silk threads and depicting a group of immortal / Star God figures against a vivid red silk ground, presented in a giltwood frame.

The embroidery is well executed, with good use of colour and shading across the robes and faces of the figures, the whole framed and ready to hang. Overall dimensions approximately 58 x 69 cm including the frame.

Embroidered silk pictures of this type were produced in China for both the domestic and export markets and remain popular as decorative pieces. This is a 20th century example.
