Antique Davenport Creamware Plate Hand Painted Daffodil Impressed Anchor AF

A Davenport creamware plate, c.1795–1810, hand-painted with a botanical study of a daffodil in yellow and green within a moulded feather-edge border picked out in brown. Diameter approximately 22cm.

Impressed DAVENPORT over an anchor to the base — the mark of the Longport, Staffordshire factory. Botanical creamware of this quality follows the Wedgwood and Leeds tradition and is keenly collected.
