Antique Dragons in Compartments Pattern Lozenge Dish Chinoiserie Regency 30cm AF

An early 19th-century lozenge dish in the celebrated "Dragons in Compartments" pattern, c.1800–1820, painted with radiating compartments of chinoiserie figures, pagodas, dragons and flowers in green, pink, orange, blue and gilt. Approximate size: length 30cm.

"Dragons in Compartments" (sometimes called "Bengal Tiger" or "Kylin in Compartments") was made most famously by Chamberlain's Worcester and was taken up by several other English factories in the Regency period. This example is unmarked and I have not attributed it to a specific factory.

Condition: Please see images for condition — the photographs form part of the description and show every angle, the base and any faults. Heavily repaired — old staple/rivet repairs across the dish, clearly photographed. Sold as a decorative piece.
