An antique Staffordshire alphabet (ABC) plate with the letters of the alphabet moulded around the rim, printed and coloured with a farming scene and the Franklin's Proverbs maxim Now I have a sheep and a cow, every body bids me good morrow.

Benjamin Franklin's sayings from Poor Richard's Almanack were printed on children's plates from the 1830s onwards, given as rewards for good behaviour.
