Antique Watcombe Torquay Terracotta Jug Pewter Lid Registered Design 1872 23cm

A Watcombe Terra-Cotta Co. jug of plain conical form with a hinged pewter lid, made at Torquay in Devon. Watcombe was celebrated for its fine red Devon clay and clean classical shapes, and registered a number of jug designs in the early 1870s.

The base is printed WATCOMBE TORQUAY with a registered design diamond, which reads as 1872.

Size: 23cm high.
