A decorative antique cabinet plate with a striking turquoise basketweave / 'jewelled' border and a central monochrome transfer-printed study of a classical maiden, within a gilt-lined rim.

It measures approximately 24 cm in diameter. The combination of jewelled turquoise border and neo-classical transfer is typical of the better Victorian decorative-plate makers.
