Copeland Apricot Ground Floral Cabinet Plate Gilt Scalloped Antique 23cm

A handsome Copeland cabinet plate with a soft apricot / peach ground border, a central hand-coloured floral spray and a gilt-decorated scalloped rim.

The plate carries the green printed Copeland mark together with impressed marks to the base, dating it to the late 19th century. It measures approximately 23 cm in diameter.

Copeland (the successor to Spode) produced finely decorated cabinet and dessert wares of this quality throughout the Victorian period, and ground-colour plates with gilt borders remain very collectable and display beautifully.
