Early 19th century, likely Derby porcelain. Gold and red English porcelain dish. Good condition. Marked 521 to base.
A handsome early 19th-century English porcelain dish, very likely Derby, decorated in a striking palette of deep red (iron red) and richly tooled gilt. The bold contrast of red and gold is a hallmark of Regency-period English porcelain at its finest.
The base carries the painted pattern number 521, consistent with Derby factory practice during the early 1800s. Derby porcelain of this period — produced under William Duesbury and Robert Bloor — is increasingly sought after by collectors of English porcelain.
In good condition throughout, with strong colours and well-preserved gilding. Please see all photographs for full condition.
An excellent collector's piece, equally at home in a Regency-period interior, a porcelain cabinet, or as a small functional dish for trinkets, sweets or business cards.
Will be carefully packed and dispatched fully tracked and insured. UK shipping; international buyers welcome via eBay's Global Shipping Programme.
