Forness Wilson Signed Gouache Pyramids Giza Camel Riders Egyptian Orientalist

An Orientalist gouache of two camel riders crossing the desert before the Pyramids of Giza under a bright sky. Signed Forness Wilson lower left.

Painted with quick, assured strokes typical of the early 20th century Egyptian tourist-trade school; the pale sand and the hazy pyramids give a strong sense of heat and distance.

Framed behind glass in a wooden frame with gilt slip; backboard with old paper and string. Overall size approx 47 x 37 cm.

Condition: colours strong; some wear to the backing paper. Please see all photographs. Sold as found.

A companion temple-ruins scene by the same artist is listed separately.
