Henry Thomas Alken (1785-1851) was the leading sporting and comic artist of the Regency; the Symptoms series is held in the Paul Mellon Collection at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

Framed behind glass with a dark mount in a wooden frame. Overall size approx 40 x 35 cm.

Condition: good colour; light toning. Please see all photographs. A second plate from the series is listed separately.
