A beautifully hand-painted French porcelain shell-form bowl with handle, from Atelier Camille Le Tallec, Paris — the prestigious hand-painting studio that supplied Tiffany & Co. Private Stock for decades and is widely regarded as one of the finest mid-20th century French porcelain decorators.

The bowl features a deep raspberry/crimson ground richly decorated with fine gilt rococo scrollwork. The shaped reserve to the centre is hand-painted with a fully realised floral bouquet — pink roses, blue, red and yellow flowers — executed with the kind of brushwork that distinguishes Le Tallec's atelier from mere transfer-printed decoration.

The base bears the painted signature "Lahot PP" in blue, and the original collector's label notes: "Designed & painted by hand by Lanot for le Tallec of Paris, Karl Hamann of Dresden c.1896, gold rose probably covers white Rosenthal mark." The Le Tallec atelier was founded in Paris in 1930 by Camille Le Tallec and produced exquisite hand-decorated wares throughout the 20th century. This piece appears to be on a Rosenthal porcelain blank, custom-decorated as a private commission for Karl Hamann of Dresden.

The combination of a top-tier French decorating atelier, fine German porcelain blank, and individual private commission makes this an unusual and collectable example.
