Loetz Bohemian Iridescent Art Glass Vase Green Oil Spot Bark 18cm

A fine Loetz Bohemian iridescent art glass vase, the slender neck rising from a bulbous body, the surface with a ribbed / 'bark' texture and a lustrous oil-spot iridescent green finish that shifts through gold and blue tones in the light.

Loetz (Lötz Witwe) of Bohemia was one of the foremost art glass houses of the Art Nouveau period, celebrated for exactly this kind of iridescent decor. The vase stands approximately 18 cm high.

As is frequently the case with Loetz iridescent glass, the piece is unsigned — much of the firm's output for the trade was not marked.

Condition: there are some minor chips to the rim, shown in the photographs. The iridescence remains bright. Please view all images closely as they form part of the description and condition report.
