Pegasam Spain Set 3 Alabaster Wall Uplighter Sconces Art Deco Style Glow

A set of three Spanish alabaster wall uplighter sconces by Pegasam S.L. of Spain, of conical form on cast iron half-dome wall mounts, in the Art Deco taste. Each shade is hand-carved from genuine Spanish alabaster and glows beautifully when illuminated, casting the warm marbled patterns of the natural stone against the wall.

Pegasam S.L. (Alabastros Pegasam) is one of the most established Spanish alabaster lighting manufacturers, based in the alabaster heartland of north-east Spain - the Ebro Valley around Sarral and Teruel, which is the world's principal source of fine carving-grade alabaster. The firm has been producing alabaster lighting since the 1970s in both period revival and contemporary forms. The conical wall uplighter form - drawing on the French Art Deco vocabulary of the 1930s - has been one of their best-known and longest-running models. Reference: Ref AK53 to the original maker's label, intact on at least one of the shades. CE marked.

Each sconce measures approximately 24cm in length x 15cm in height, with a hollow conical alabaster shade mounted to a cast iron half-dome wall base with a screw fixing point. The interior houses a small bulb fitting (E14 small Edison screw). When illuminated, the warm honey, cream and amber banding of the alabaster glows dramatically.

Condition is honestly disclosed: one shade has a larger chip, the other two have only minor top-rim damage which is hidden once the sconce is wall-mounted in its proper orientation. Please review the photographs carefully. Wired and ready to install; as with any second-hand lighting, a qualified electrician should check installation before connection.
