Poole Pottery Bud Vase Living Glaze Hand Decorated English Studio 13cm

A small and attractive Poole Pottery bud vase in the Living Glaze range, of pleasingly globular form with a tapering neck and gently flared rim. Marked underfoot with the impressed Poole England mark, of the modern lower-case form used by the factory from 1999 onwards.

Poole Pottery, founded in 1873 as Carter & Co. in the Dorset port town of Poole, has been one of the most consistently inventive English art potteries of the modern era. The "Living Glaze" range, developed at Poole in the late 1990s and early 2000s, features bold reduction-fired glaze effects in saturated jewel tones - reds, blues, yellows, turquoises - applied freely so that no two pieces are exactly alike. The range remains highly collected and is produced today in limited runs.

This bud vase measures 13cm in height, with the dramatic reduction-glaze treatment characteristic of the Living Glaze pieces. Condition is excellent - no chips or cracks. Marked Poole England to the base.
