An evocative set of four large-format mounted studio photographs by T.U. Barber of Faversham, Kent, c.1905-1918. Each photograph is mounted on a dark brown card with the photographer's blind-embossed credit "T.U. BARBER FAVERSHAM" to the reverse. Almost certainly a single Kent family group, comprising:

1. A young Royal Field Artillery soldier in service dress uniform, the RFA shoulder title clearly visible in close inspection - dating the photograph to the First World War, c.1915-1918.
2. A young woman, presumably his wife or sweetheart, wearing a pleated blouse with a sweetheart locket pendant containing what appears to be the soldier's portrait - a classic First World War remembrance token.
3. A young boy in a Norfolk-style tweed Eton suit with knee breeches, button boots and Eton collar, c.1905-1912.
4. An Edwardian village or works cricket team in whites with cabled cricket jumpers, c.1900-1914.

Each mount measures approximately 34 x 46cm. The mounts show wear and edge chipping consistent with age and handling; the photographs themselves are sound and present with the characteristic warm tonal range and depth of contemporary studio gelatin silver prints. T.U. Barber of Faversham operated a provincial Kent studio in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, of the kind that recorded entire generations of small-town family life.

A poignant social history grouping with the unmistakable resonance of the First World War. Of particular interest to collectors of Kent local history, social history photography, First World War family material, or for atmospheric decorative use in a period interior. UK tracked delivery available; collection from Nottingham welcome.
