Beautiful Vintage Wedgwood Jasperware Bowl – Dated 1955

This is an excellent example of mid‑century Wedgwood Jasperware, made in England and clearly dated 1955 to the base. The bowl is crafted in classic green jasper with applied white reliefs and a striking vertically striped lower body.

A continuous procession of classical cherubs/putti runs around the exterior, including a dramatic scene of winged putti riding in a chariot drawn by a lion, surrounded by butterflies, foliage and small animals. The crisp detail of the relief decoration is typical of Wedgwood’s finest work and really stands out against the soft matte green background.
